How Does URI-Klear Work?

URI-Klear quickly dissolves hard deposits in gents’ urinal waste traps, whether bottle traps or P-traps, and deeper down the pipework, whether copper or plastic. Because it’s non-caustic, it targets only the uric acid and scale, so pipework and fittings stay unaffected.

How to Use URI-Klear

Important: always read and follow instructions for best results.

Standard flushing gate or trough urinals

1. Isolate or turn off the water supply temporarily if possible.
2. Remove as much debris, urine and water from the waste trap and pipes as you can. (URI-Klear still works in traps full of urine, but you need enough capacity to add the product, and it will take longer to work.)
3. Apply the product directly to the blockage.
4. After 10 minutes, reconnect the water or flush water down to clear the blockage.
5. For blockages deep in the pipework, you may need more product or a second application, especially if a lot of water or urine remains in the pipe before you apply the product.

Waterless & waterfree cartridge urinals

1. Remove the cartridge to expose the drain. (Don’t apply URI-Klear via the cartridge — it needs to bypass the cartridge and go directly into the pipework.)
2. After 10 minutes, flush water down to clear the blockage.
3. For blockages deep in the pipework, you may need more product or a second application.

Reduced-flushing bacterial-based urinal sleeves

1. Isolate or turn off the water supply temporarily if possible, then remove the sleeve or dome from the urinal grate.
2. Remove as much debris, urine and water from the waste trap and pipes as you can. (URI-Klear still works in traps full of urine, but you need enough capacity to add the product, and it will take longer to work.)
3. Apply the product directly to the blockage.
4. After 10 minutes, reconnect the water or flush water down to clear the blockage.
